“ALL STAR TALENT” JULY 09

In July 09 selected students from schools including: Erith, Trinity, Bexleyheath and Business Academy, Bexley took part in a 2 week summer school – Performance Icons. The aim of the project was for a selection of yr 10 students from schools within the consortium to sample the 14-19 Creative Media Diploma. “All Star Talent” was the ultimate performance finale that ended the two weeks and demonstrated the creativity, adaptability and diligence of all the young people involved. It was not only a celebration of iconic talent, but the talent of all these students too.

In collaboration with North Central Bexley Consortium, Reynolds’ Performing Arts and The London College of Communication, Rose Bruford College hosted the event in the Barn Theatre on the evening of the 10th July.  For those students backstage or marketing the event, an exhibition of their work was presented the same evening at Rose Bruford College.

“All Star Talent” was a resounding success. It was enjoyed over two sittings and the feedback was very positive with comments such as: “I thought it was a professional show.” Furthermore the students are now able to understand the intricacies of technical theatre and subsequently input their own ideas into practice, creatively and confidently, using performance skills. For some it has impacted their future options – keen to follow a path into technical theatre.
