WSR Radio

Over the last 12 months, ex Bruford Actor George Banks has been hard at work alongside Bruford staff, past and present students and a couple of cunning outsiders to create WSR Radio – a labour of love radio drama project that has produced brand new never before heard radio series and full length plays.

As a writer of one of the aforementioned series I encourage you all to tune in to www.wsrradio.co.uk – at your leisure where, you may have the pleasure of enjoying the fruits of our labour. My original series Dynasties, currently has episode one available, and a new episode will be uploaded every Thursday for the next three weeks featuring Ruth Jennings, Henry Devas, Jonathan Davenport, Nick Amatt, Gillian Mackie, Max Hutchinson, Rob Plumbly and Kay Welch.

ENJOY!

From Filskit Theatre:
“Just thought I’d give you a quick Filskit update….

“This Sunday we performed at Camden Peoples Theatre as part of Scenepool 2009, we had a great time. We were double billed with another act and received some very good feedback from the audience. We also had a short review written about us by Skye Crawford from Fringe Review, which we thought you might find interesting!

“The other exciting piece I saw was called The Living Canvas and is work by a company called Filskit Theatre . They invite you to join them on a journey through the private lives of four characters. They use a technique I have never seen before, pocket projection, where a hand held light is used that shines through imagery to project onto walls, people and backing sheets. This innovative technique sets this company apart from so many others out there. Their piece was beautiful, moving and challenging. I wanted to see so much more. Visit www.filskittheatre.com for further info.”

It’s short and sweet but we are really pleased with it! Many thanks as always for all your help and support, hopefully we will see you soon.

Harriet Field (European Theatre Arts) writes:
Over the summer I was assistant director for the pilot for a new television series called ‘Dark Stranger’ which was also written by one of our very own second year directing students – Roy Weise

The teaser trailer is now on youtube:

‘To tell this story of a warrior poet trapped in the cold city, we go where he goes, feel the grit and shiver in the cold as he walks from his bus stop to the house and people that cannot protect him.
This is not a glossy drama, set in a shiny, friendly world. Jelani takes us to live in the harsh and drab world that is constantly shifting. These characters allow this brutal world to cast shadows over their souls, but is their potential to be lost forever?’

and I would be delighted if you could take a look, it is only one minute and six seconds long, and if you like it why not join the facebook group:
