Bexleyheath Library – National Poetry Day 2009

National Poetry Day, 8th October 2009

Comments from Rachel Edwards:

“As I’m sure you’ve heard from Sam, all your students were extremely enthusiastic and really enjoyable to listen to – I thought that the range of poems chosen and performed was really impressive and certainly demonstrated their talents.  Unfortunately, Thursday was a particularly quiet day at Central Library, and despite our publicity the number of readers visiting the library to hear the students read was smaller than I had hoped for.  Of the customers that did take the time to hear your students I know that they all really enjoyed the experience and I hope that, despite the smaller numbers, the students also enjoyed visiting the library and taking part in National Poetry Day

“I’d particularly like to thank you for taking the time to help me get this project up and running, and I really hope that Rose Bruford and the libraries can work together again in the future – after chatting with Sam I’ve explained all the regular activities we run such as Teenage Reading Groups, so if there is anything you would like to get involved in, please do drop me a line!”
