The College is working with Kinetika, a community-based carnival arts company, and with the Arts department of Bexley council, to develop one of a number of strands of a national project building towards 2012. The project centres round a puppet character who falls to Earth from afar, and embarks on a voyage of discovery and adventure in the neighbourhood – eventually making the journey to Stratford. The project has been awarded the 2012 Inspire mark.
On 28th October the college supported Kinetika’s recent national sharing day at the Unicorn Theatre, bringing together prohecty partners from all over the UK. A group of students from the European Theatre Arts programme were operating “Chaz”; one of the child puppets from the project. Over the next year the project will be working with schools and communities throughout Bexley.
