Dr Rosamund Bartlett

Rosamund-Bartlett-007Dr Bartlett is a writer and translator whose field of expertise is Russian cultural history, with a particular focus on the 19th and early 20th Centuries, the links between music and literature, cultural politics, and opera. Her authored books include Tolstoy: A Russian Life, Literary Russia: A Guide, Chekhov: Scenes from a Life and Wagner and Russia; and as translator and editor, Victory over The Sun: The World’s First Futurist Opera, and by Anton Chekov, The Exclamation Mark, About Love and Others, and Anton Chekhov: A Life in Letters. She is a founder and Trustee of The Anton Chekhov Foundation whose Patrons are Kenneth Brannagh, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Frayn, Even Lepedev, Rubella Scales and Tom Stoppard. Recently, at the Russian Embassy in London, she was awarded the commemorative medal “150 Anniversary of Anton Chekhov” for the promotion of Chekhov’s Legacy. www.rosamundbartlett.com
