School and College Relationships
The College has relationships with a range of schools, colleges and educational organisations, that are designed to help under-represented groups in higher education and in the art and craft of performance.
Activities with schools partners include audition and interview workshops; advice surgeries; visits and tours to the college; visits to shows, pre- and after-show discussion; bringing performances to the college. We have run summer school activity in carnival arts; technical theatre; voice and poetry; and study skills.
Our activities are prioritised with schools and colleges who have a special relationship with arts education, such as specialist schools. We are also particularly interested in working with establishments who are involved in developing the technical arts.

Our list of schools and colleges is grouped into a series of categories. In time we would like to progress schools up the list:
Local Partners (L)
These are schools and colleges in London and the Thames Gateway with whom we share work and to whom we go for advice. With some of these colleges we have formal progression or partnership agreements, which may include audition fee waivers.
Regional Partners (R)
These are establishments with whom we have strong staff and/or student links. We visit some colleges on a regular basis, o do progression work with their students. This includes audition and portfolio workshops, and careers advice.
‘Buddy’ schools (S)
Schools with whom we have no formal agreement, but who are keen on our work and whose staff and/or students attend performances or events here. These schools often have a record of sending candidates for our courses, and staff who are known to us
Targets (T)
These are establishments whose works seems to be important and relevant to the College’s mission, but with whom we have yet to develop an understanding.
Unclassified general mailing (U)
These are other schools and colleges about which not enough is known. Our contact is merely speculative at this stage.
We are also part of other organisations who work in widening participation:
